Yes. Owners mount the Mossberg 590 and 590S in both RACT Biometric and RACT Keypad, optics included. The one step they all mention is taking the time to set the stock support before tightening anything down.
Traditional Rifle & Shotgun kit. Notched hinge, clears barrels and magazine tubes up to 3.3 in across. Traditional trigger cover.
Pistol grip
AR / Tactical Shotgun kit. AR-style trigger cover, with room for a pistol grip and an extended magazine, plus a takedown pin shield.
RACT Biometric
Ships with both kits, so nothing to choose.
RACT Keypad
Choose the version that matches your stock. A $50 conversion kit switches it later.
What owners report
Set the stock support first. One owner found its position decides whether the trigger cover sits right, and had to offset the butt of the stock further than he expected.
Make every adjustment on a table before the rail goes on the wall. An owner with the Keypad used the included foam pads so the shotgun does not move when locked, and added thread locker to the fasteners.
Optics clear: a 590S owner notes that, unlike other shotgun locks he tried, RACT works with his optic.

great product
So, I was a bit brain-dead on figuring out how to adjust the RACT to fit my Mossberg 590, but eventually got it. The stock support position is critical to getting the trigger guard part to sit properly…had to offset the butt of the stock more. Install was simple in drywall with studs. Love the engineering of the product and the versatility. Very solid but accessible.

RACT Keypad Mossberg 590
Opted for the keypad and set to 8 digits. Opens quickly. Very secure. Using foam pads provided, it doesn't budge when locked. While there's no need (nor would I recommend) I'd feel quite comfortable with a shell chambered. Trigger cover and grip adjustability can be very precise. For me, taking time to get all the adjustments just right before tightening down was key in maximizing RACT's capability. Even added thread lock where applicable. Of course, if someone were determined, a chainsaw would set it free.

I bought the RACT to keep my Mossberg 590S shotgun safe and ready. It works just as advertised, easy to adjust to the shotgun, easy to mount to the wall, and easy to record finger prints. Unlike many other shotgun locks, it works fine with optics. Delivery was about six weeks later than the estimate when I ordered, but it was worth the wait.

Questions
Which RACT version fits the Mossberg 590?
It depends on the stock. With a traditional stock, use the Traditional Rifle & Shotgun kit (notched hinge, traditional trigger cover). With a pistol grip, use the AR-style trigger cover from the AR / Tactical Shotgun kit. RACT Biometric ships with both kits; on RACT Keypad, choose the version that matches your stock, and a $50 conversion kit switches it later.
What if my Mossberg 590 is set up differently?
Every part of RACT slides along the rail, so the barrel lock, trigger cover and stock support move to suit your gun's length, scope, light and sling. If your build differs from the owners' here, email support@varasafety.com with the make, model and what is mounted, and we will confirm before you order.
