This thing is exactly as described. Works perfectly after you get it adjusted correctly. Make sure you get all your adjustments done before you mount it to the studs! I will be ordering the AR version next !!
Does RACT fit the Remington 870?

Yes, with two things to check first: the grip and the forend. An 870 with a traditional stock fits the Traditional Rifle & Shotgun kit. An 870 with a pistol grip, or a pistol-grip style safety guard, needs the AR-style trigger cover.

Purchased the RACT shotgun mount for my 870 and it does the job perfectly. Easy to mount, access, and conceal in plain sight...(my bathrobe hangs over it). When I discovered I needed the AR15 type pistol-grip trigger guard, John at Vara was on the job, and has gone out of his way to let me know they will get the conversion kit out to me ASAP. Purchased a RACT unit for my shotgun. Mounted perfectly for a home defense tool. But after realizing that the standard shotgun mount for my 870 did not properly cover my custom pistol grip-type safety guard, John at Vara hooked me up with a conversion kit that matched my needs perfectly. My home defense firearm is now safely and effectively-mounted weapon hidden in plain sight behind a bathrobe in our bedroom.
Love the concept. But my shotgun version doesnt fit my 870 with streamlight forend and its not nearly as easy or fast as it needs to be. Maybe with practice ill get faster.
